This week was a little different than most, to say the least.. At first I felt like I wouldn't have a guest to interview but my wife had suggested that we drive up to Sacramento for an event which so happened to be organized by my friend and then-CEO of Mental Health America of California, Zima Creason. Well, 10 hours after that initial idea we had found ourselves in a motel just minutes away from the state capitol. Thankfully, I was able to wrangle Zima away from her duties to interview her for about 15 minutes and talk about the most pressing issues in mental health, especially among Californians. This includes state-wide certification for peer support specialists, the education system, and adverse childhood effects (ACEs). Sadly, we had to drive back home later that afternoon in the pouring rain but I don't regret the trip at all.
Zima is now the executive director or the California EDGE Coalition which you can learn more about here.
